Rishi Sunak has faced criticism after he asked a homeless man at a shelter if he worked in business.
In footage from his visit to a homeless shelter run by The Passage in London on Friday (December 23), the Prime Minister can be seen serving breakfast.
He chats with a man called Dean, who asked Mr Sunak: "Are you sorting the economy out?”
The Prime Minister replied saying that's "exactly" what he's trying to do.
After that Dean said that sorting the economy would be good for business, to which Mr Sunak then asked: "Do you have… do you work in business?"

Dean replied: "No, I'm homeless. I am actually a homeless person. But I am interested in business."
Dean then said he was interested in business, prompting Mr Sunak to ask him what kind of business.
When Dean replied finance, the Prime Minister said: “I used to work in finance, actually.”
Mr Sunak then asked: “Is that something you’d like to get into?”
“Yeah I wouldn’t mind. But, I don’t know, I’d like to get through Christmas first,” Dean said.
Sunak criticised for homeless shelter conversation
After the clip was shared on social media Mr Sunak received some criticism, with Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner quote tweeting the video and calling it "excruciating".
Another posted: "Asking a homeless person if he works in business, and what his plans are this weekend for Christmas. It just shows how lacking in empathy and how out of touch @RishiSunak really is…"

Some other people also found the conversation awkward with one posting: "I’ve cut this down and captioned it, so you don’t miss a single second of this excruciating exchange between a homeless man and a clueless Rishi Sunak."
Some also aimed their disapproval at Mr Sunak completing at one Twitter user called a "PR stunt"
Another put: "Rishi Sunak, a Millionaire, serving food at a homeless shelter. The hypocrisy. A man who supported and helped implement policies that led to a rise in homelessness."
Meanwhile, Dr Rachel Clarke posted: "Why do politicians believe photos like these capture anything other than their cynicism? Here’s Rishi Sunak cosplaying in cashmere as a homeless shelter staff member yesterday."
The Prime Minister has pledged £2 billion to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping over the next three years.
