A MAN has been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm after another man was found with serious head injuries following a suspected confrontation.
Officers were called to an incident on Moatcroft Road, Eastbourne, at 12.01am on Monday, August 30.
A 42-year-old man was found unconscious in the street near the junction of Upperton Road with serious head injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Michael Hall, of Enys Road, Eastbourne, has been arrested and charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 1.
The 41-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at crown court for a hearing on September 29.
Police investigating the matter previously said they believe the victim was involved in an altercation, potentially with three other men, earlier in the night.
The victim had been at the Prince Albert pub in High Street and is thought to have left to go to The Rainbow pub in Moatcroft Road.
Anyone who witnessed an altercation in either of these locations, or the surrounding streets, is asked to contact police.
