Time For Summit Tasty

Elliot and Michelle set up their food van ‘Summit Tasty’ in 2022 after 6 years of travelling around many of the mountains of the world, meeting inspiring people and acquiring a passion for food.

Upon their return to the UK and a pandemic which curtailed any further travelling, they sought to turn their love for adventure into a business that would allow them to spread their skills of creating delicious and flavour-packed food with the people of Worthing and beyond.

Whilst purchasing a new home a burger van parked outside their drive gave them the idea to buy an old builder’s van, Une, which with a lot of hard work they turned “from a dusty workhouse, into Summit we think is really special, allowing us to live our dream of running our own food business”. Aptly named after the mountains they visited. Summit Tasty was born.

Concentrating predominantly on the concept of vegetarian loaded fries with toppings named after mountains around the world their current menu contains such offerings as Scafell Pike, Mount Fuji, Mont Blanc, Dorking Downs, and Ben Nevis. Scafell Pike arguably their most popular dish and named after England’s tallest mountain features a homemade Tikka Masala sauce paired with either paneer cheese or tofu, topped with fresh coriander, mango chutney and their take on crispy onion bhaji pieces.

Michelle’s favourite dish Mount Fuji combines some classic Japanese flavours inspired by the amazing street food she ate whilst she was there, especially Okonomiyaki, a giant pancake cooked in a hibachi and smothered in Teriyaki sauce and Japan’s signature kewpie mayonnaise.

The menu keeps going from strength to strength with Elliot and Michelle always looking to create new additions. For New Year Ben Nevis was born to honour Robert Burns featuring homemade veggie haggis and whiskey pepper cream sauce and topped with shredded crispy turnips

A year on from its formation Michelle and Elliott have created an innovative business that promotes the use of fresh and delicious ingredients in generous size portions that will leave you eager to try out the latest flavours. With a regular Wednesday evening slot at the Brookstead in Worthing and the ability to cater for private events no matter how big or small make sure you check them out soon and let your taste buds explode.
