The candidates standing for Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner have been named today.
After nominations closed this lunchtime, four men and a woman had thrown their hats into the ring.
They are Conservative Katy Bourne, Labour's Godfrey Daniel, Liberal Democrat David Rogers, Tony Armstrong of the UK Independence Party and Independent candidate Ian Chisnall.
An official statement of nominations is to be published on Tuesday.
The electorate will cover all of Sussex.
The job pays £85,000 a year and carries the power to hire and fire the chief constable and set the police budget.
Councils have contacted residents urging them to register to vote in the elections and the Electoral Commission is understood to be sending out 21 million leaflets nationwide.
