A large group of travellers have moved onto Withdean Stadium car park on Thursday, September 27, causing disruption to roads around the area.
Around 20 caravans and vans entered the car park. The volume of traffic blocked nearby streets.
Neighbours contacted the chairman of the Westdene and Withdean Association (WWCA) totell him travellers had moved onto the stadium car park.
WWCA chairman, Michael Whitty, contacted the police and informed Brighton and Hove councillors about the situation.
Mr Whitty told residents by email that he hoped police and the council would act quickly.
Police and the travellers liaison service were in attendance last night. A community impact assessment is currently being undertaken in order to determine the most appropriate course of action.
Anyone who requires any more information on the situation should visit the travellers liaison service website at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk.
