Plans for a permanent traveller site will be discussed with members of the public.
Brighton and Hove City Council looked at more than 50 sites before agreeing to create the pitches at Horsdean, in Patcham, Brighton.
The planned site, which will be paid for by a £1.7 million government grant, will be next to an existing transit site for the minority groups.
Two drop-in sessions lasting five hours each have been organised by the local authority to talk about how it would affect residents in the area.
They will take place in Patcham Community Centre in Ladies' Mile Road, Brighton on June 21 from 2pm to 7pm and the second is June 23 from 10am to 3pm.
Councillor Pete West, chairman of the council’s environment Committee, said: “Now that the long-awaited decision has been taken to create a permanent travellers site at Horsdean we want as many people as possible to help us design the site.
“First and foremost this new site will help ease the problem of unauthorised encampments caused by a shortage of official pitches in the city.
“These two drop-in sessions are a chance for everyone interested in the new site to help us design how it’ll be managed and how it will look.”
