An annual carnival had a new date in the calendar but produced the same feel-good factor.
About 3,500 people visited Hove Lions Carnival in Hove Park yesterday (June 4) despite the overcast conditions as the carnival moved weekends to coincide with the Jubilee celebrations.
Organisers are hoping that the day has raised thousands of pounds which will be spent on local community groups.
The funfair, Jubilee cake stall and jewellery tent all proved popular while the carnival’s dog show attracted record numbers.
The event also featured a Jubilee raffle with the chance to win a Brighton and Hove Albion signed shirt, a round of golf at West Hove Golf Club and meals out.
Committee member Jim Evans said: “The day has gone very well, we are very pleased. The weather was a bit unpredictable but we have had a good crowd.”
