A woman has died after being thrown from her horse.
The 28-year-old woman from Eastbourne was critically injured when she fell from the retired racehorse she was riding, called Mister, last Monday.
She was flown to the Royal London Hospital with serious head injuries following the incident on the A271, Hailsham.
Police and emergency services were called to Under Road, Magham Down, just before 6pm to reports that a horse rider, travelling east along a rural lane, had lost control when her horse become startled and started galloping at speed.
