She has been determined not to let her illness stop her.
Mother-of-two Amanda Woodhouse is battling an aggressive brain tumour but at the same time she has raised a staggering £20,000 for charity.
Mrs Woodhouse has dedicated her efforts to helping others while fighting her own illness.
The 41-year-old set up Amanda’s Angels, a project dedicated to rais-ing awareness and funds for research into brain cancer.
She says she is determined to live life to the full every day with the help and support of her family and friends.
Mrs Woodhouse, of Baden Road, Brighton, had an operation to remove a tumour roughly the size of a golf ball from her brain in March 2009.
The tumour was a grade four, the most aggressive and fast growing type.
Surgeons could not remove it all and Mrs Woodhouse went on to have intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment at Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath.
She has also had a second operation to remove a growth.
Mrs Woodhouse is raising the money through Cancer Research UK, specifically for studies into brain tumours.
She said: “I am working on taking each day as it comes and focus ing on raising money.
“When I was diagnosed I knew I didn’t want to sit back and give up so I decided to try to support other people in the same position as me.
“Things can be challenging at times but I am determined to make the most of my life.”
