A headteacher has announced he is leaving.
Gianni Franceschi told parents in a letter that he is moving from Stanford Junior School in Stanford Road, Brighton, to take up the post of headteacher at Downs Junior School, in Rugby Road, Brighton.
Denise Anderson, chair of governors at Stanford Juniors, said in the school newsletter that they are organising “interim arrangements” before appointing a new headteacher.
She said: “We are very grateful that we already have an outstanding team of staff who are more than capable, as they have shown in the past, of keeping the school going during this time of transition.”
Mr Franceschi, who has been at the school for six years, said he was leaving for a new challenge.
He said he was leaving with “a mixture of sadness and excitement”.
