A town's largest fishing boat had to be towed back to harbour after developing steering problems.

The Eastbourne RNLI lifeboat was called to help the stricken boat five miles off the Eastbourne coast.

The 40 tonne vessel was making its way back to Sovereign Harbour yesterday afternoon when the crew contact the Coastguard to say the steering had malfunctioned.

The lifeboat crew towed the vessel the rest of the way into the harbour.
