Two men have been stabbed – one in the chest and one in the groin.
The men were knifed in Station Road, Burgess Hill, at 9pm yesterday.
Officers attended Station Road following a report of a disturbance.
On arrival two men were found with stab wounds.
A man was discovered outside the property suffering from a stab wound to his chest and another man was found inside the property suffering from a stab wound to his groin.
Both men were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where they remain in a stable condition. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Tracy Edwards said: “It is not completely clear how these two men received their injuries and we would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident.
“We believe the incident took place inside the property and then one of the victims left to go outside.
“The men would all appear to know each other.
“However the cause of the incident is unknown.”
A 23-year-old man from Burgess Hill was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and he remains in custody this morning.
