Former Crawley Town manager Steve Evans is being investigated by the Football Association over claims he exposed himself to a woman at a match.

The ex-Red Devils boss is accused of pulling down his trousers in front of a woman working for Bradford City on the night of the League Two clash between the clubs in March.

The FA is investigating a complaint from Bradford City, but there is no police inquiry.

The match on March 27 ended in uproar.

Fighting broke out on the pitch after the match finished in a 2-1 victory for Crawley.

The referee issued five players with red cards after they had returned to their changing rooms.

Crawley Town described the fight at the time as “unfortunate”.

The exposure is reported to have taken place outside the team dressing rooms after the game.

The FA declined to comment on the claim about Evans’ behaviour but confirmed a misconduct investigation was taking place.

Bradford City director Roger Owen said: “The football club can confirm that a complaint has been made to the appropriate authorities following an incident at Valley Parade after the game with Crawley Town on March 27.

“We understand that the authorities will determine what action, if any, they are going to take.

“The matter is now out of the hands of Bradford City and we have no further comment to make.”

West Yorkshire Police said it was not mounting a criminal investigation.

Crawley has already been fined £18,000 and the Bantams £9,000 for failing to control their players after the match.

Crawley’s Pablo Mills, who was among those red-carded, was later suspended for three games by the FA and fined £1,000 for violent conduct.

In April Evans left Crawley to become manager of Rotherham United.

Crawley went on to secure promotion to League One. The team is now managed by Sean O’Driscoll, with Steve Coppell as director of football.

Neither Rotherham United nor Steve Evans was available for comment yesterday.

A spokesman for the FA said previous matters against Evans would not affect any action which could be taken as a result of the current investigation.
