There’s a surprising sight in Woodingdean this week. In various parts of the area you will see scarecrows in front gardens. However, they’re not there to frighten the birds away but a part of a competition being held by the parish church.
The competition is being held in conjunction with celabrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and is raising money for Holy Cross Church.
Argus journalist Adam Trimmingham will tour the area later this week to select the winning scarecrow.
