A woman has been found dead on an empty beach.
The 30 to 40-year-old was discovered on the beach at Seaford near to Chyngton Way around 9.40am on Friday (May 25).
Police said that the cause of the woman's death was a mystery and that the Coroner had been informed.
She is described as white, 5'6'', of medium to heavy build, with fair complexion and dark brown hair which is possibly shoulder length.
She was wearing blue jeans, a predominantly blue floral top and yellow sweatshirt. She was also wearing two silver coloured rings, a Swatch watch and a silver coloured necklace with three charms on it.
Police and the Coroner have been unable to identify the woman or understand how she came to be on the beach and are asking for assistance from the public.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a woman near to the beach during the night or early hours of the morning on Friday.
