A large scale hunt has been launched involving lifeboat crews and the RAF helicopter after an empty canoe was spotted drifting off the east Sussex coast.
The red canoe, which is in very good condition, was initially spotted in the sea close to Pevensey.
It then washed ashore.
A Dover Coastguard spokesman said two lifeboats had been launched from Eastbourne and had now been searching the sea for six hours.
However, they are yet to find anything.
More to follow.
