THE sun is shining at the moment. Let’s keep our fingers and everything crossed.
But already the moaners are having a go: “Oh it’s too hot for me,” and “I can’t stand the heat, it plays havoc with my skin.”
And this is just after a few days. I am a sun worshipper – I can’t get enough of that big yellow ball in the sky.
Remembering to put on my high-factor sun lotion, you need the sun for your vitamin D.
I had someone leave a message on my Facebook saying, “Come back rain, all is forgiven. It’s too hot for me,” and that was after one day.
I do have one pet hate during hot weather: the barbeque. After one day of sunshine it emerges from people’s sheds.
Living about a 100 yards from Newhaven’s incinerator, belching out smoke 24-7, I then get the smell of burnt steaks, hot dogs and chicken drumsticks looking as if they have visited the incinerator before they hit the grill.
Oh well, I suppose I can suffer that just to see and feel the sun. Let’s hope it lasts a bit longer...
