Britain's oldest travel agent Joe Langdell has died after more than 50 years in the business.
Joe, who was 92, was managing director at Lancing Travel in Lancing, and is believed to have been the country’s oldest working travel agent.
He spent every morning in the agency having set up the business in the ’60s selling mostly train tickets.
Daughter Marolyn paid tribute to her father who was a “well known” in the community.
She said: “He worked up until the day before he was taken ill.
“He was larger than life. There was nobody like him.”
Lancing Travel will continue trading with granddaughter Cheryl taking the reins.
Mr Langdell’s funeral will be held on Monday, May 21 at Worthing Crematorium at 1.40pm. Donations to children’s hospices Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House can be made through H D Tribe funeral directors under his full name Joseph Langdell.
