I AM sure the saints among us are determined to return Britain to medieval barbarity after having read that 14 teenagers were sent to Lewes Prison in an attempt to frighten them into what life is like behind bars if they don’t behave themselves (The Argus, May 11).

However, it might work. I couldn’t think of anything worse than being locked up in a cell and sharing it with a cunning politician, jailed for fraudulently claiming his or her expenses and allowances.

That would be a deterrent.
