A gang of young firestarters are behind a string of city arsons, police believe.
A fire was started on land near the recycling centre at Wilson Avenue, Whitehawk, Brighton, at about 6pm on Wednesday (May 17).
The previous day a blaze had been started on scrubland near the Wyevale Garden Centre in Warren Road, Brighton.
It was reported to police on Wednesday night when a group of youths were seen carrying branches in the same area.
The fires are being linked to blazes in public toilets at Blaker’s Park, Hollingbury Park and Saunders Park in recent days.
Toilets at The Level have also been damaged.
Anyone with information about who is starting the fires is asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
