I AM overjoyed that White Night has been cancelled (The Argus, May 15).
Living in North Laine, we experienced a full night of noise last year.
It’s bad enough that a standard Saturday sees our area being treated as an entertainment fall-out zone: residents have to undergo screaming people, street drummers and drunken behaviour until dawn.
Our doorway is being treated as a public urinal. The city dresses this up as “vibrant” living. But let revellers take it to their own communities, not that of long-suffering residents.
Overall, Brighton and Hove has experienced a massive, anti-socially negative spiral. Our eclectic city has become a melting pot and magnet for people who use the occasion to revel in poor behaviour.
