Three men have been jailed for attacking a Chinese man.
The victim suffered serious injuries included a fractured eye socket and had his keys and mobile phone stolen from him in the attack.
Nathan Sinclair, 21, of Hook Lane, Aldingbourne, and Adam Zahed, 18, of Bayford Road, Littlehampton were both was sentenced to three years and three months, for grievous bodily harm, while Daniel Yates, 22, of Latham Close, Littlehampton, was jailed for three years for GBH.
The attack took place at 10.45pm on July 24 last year outside a parade of shops in Wick Street, Littlehampton.
Three of the four men were subsequently charged with GBH and pleaded guilty at Chichester Crown Court last month.
They were sentenced at the same court last Friday.
After the case Detective Constable Emma Dumbrell said: “I am pleased that these men received custodial sentences. At the time of the attack there were concerns from the community that the victim was targeted because he was Chinese but our investigation proved this was not case. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
