TO THE 28% of people in Crawley who made the effort to vote on Thursday, May 3, thank you.

In particular, I thank the 80 independent voters in the Pound Hill North area.

However, to the 72% of people in Crawley who didn’t bother to vote at all on May 3, shame on you. And in particular, I refer to the 3,677 non-voters in Pound Hill North.

How can a democracy function properly in this town, when 72% of its residents can’t even be bothered to make the effort to vote?
