WHAT a pleasure it was to read Dani Ahrens’s comment piece about her car-free life (The Argus, May 8).
It made such a change from all those letters and articles about parking.
We have also been a car-free household for the past 15 years.
We have not just saved lots of money but we are also fitter, happier and a lot less stressed than most car owners.
OK, sometimes journeys do take a bit longer by public transport but you can use the time to do other things such as read, play Scrabble on your iPod, chill or even speak to other passengers.
We met a couple who are now good friends at our local bus stop.
If you are thinking about giving up your car, take a look at www.giveupyourcar.cominformative website that doesn't focus on green issues but explains why giving up your car could be good for you and your family.
