A speed camera on one of the busiest routes in Brighton will be turned back on in June.
The speed camera on the A270 Lewes Road has been hooded since December 15 in preparation for extending the 30mph zone further along the dual carriageway.
The speed change is part of a pilot scheme which began in January which included creating 20mph zones in 15 roads around schools.
Speed limits were also reduced from 40 to 30mph in Lewes Road between Natal Road to Moulsecoomb Way, Falmer Road between Woodingdean and Rottingdean and in Old Shoreham Road between Hove Cemetery and Locks Hill, Portslade.
A Brighton and Hove City Council spokeswoman said the machine would be operating again in around a month’s time to give time for the new scheme to bed in and allow drivers to adjust to the new limit.
She added: “After three months the site will be reassessed to determine if continued camera enforcement is still appropriate.”
