One of Sussex’s most wanted men is back in custody – as The Argus predicted.
On Wednesday we reported that wanted Ross Macpherson, from Shoreham, planned to hand himself in.
And he did. Macpherson, who police feared was armed with a knife, walked into Lewes police station yesterday afternoon.
The 22-year-old contacted Sussex’s favourite newspaper to tell us that he planned to relinquish himself.
Macpherson, on licence from prison, stabbed a 17-year-old in Worthing in 2006 and was jailed for six years.
We did our civic duty and told Sussex Police representatives about Macpherson’s plans.
Yesterday (May 9) Detective Inspector Stuart Hale from West Sussex Public Protection Unit said: “We are pleased that Ross Macpherson is back in custody.”
The top cop added: “I would like to thank the media.”
