A campaign to save the red and white stripes of a historic lighthouse has received a double funding boost.
More than 200 fundraisers took part in a walk round Beachy Head Lighthouse on Saturday in a bid to raise money to save its landmark red and white stripes.
The campaign to raise the £27,000 needed to restore the lighthouse's looks received a boost last week when Eastbourne Borough Council donated £10,000.
Shipping safety bosses at Trinity House last year announced that the Beachy Head lighthouse was no longer needed as a daymark leaving the striking red and white striped colours to die out.
