A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in a Brighton flat.
A 37-year-old Liverpool man bled to death after being stabbed by a six inch kitchen knife in a property on Taunton Road, Bevendean.
The emergency services were called to the flat at 5.20 this morning.
Paramedics found the victim collapsed and desperately battled to save him. But despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Phil Mays who is leading the investigation said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish what led up to this tragic incident. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased who are receiving help and support from local officers.
"Searches for the murder weapon, which we believe may be a 6" kitchen knife are continuing and a police cordon and scene guards will remain around Taunton Road."
