Brighton seemed a good place to go for the recent Bank Holiday. We as a family have visited it for many years and money is tight at the moment, but what is this?
How much to park? £20 after a long car journey is scandalous – how can Brighton and Hove City Council be so short-sighted? Surely it knows this will have an effect on traders and retailers who need the tourist trade to survive.
£20 is a lot of money, which will now go directly to the council. But what good is that when people such as my family and I stop visiting?
We used to spend money on the Pier, along the seafront and in The Lanes. Well not any more – you can kiss my business goodbye.
The council can’t have been very popular after the Brighton Marathon, and probably won’t be when the London to Brighton Bike Ride comes around in September.
I have discussed this among my family, friends and associates, and the response has been unanimous: no more trips to Brighton. Shame really, after more than 30 years of visiting.

SO THIS Green council says the extra cost of parking is going to improve public transport?
Do any of them live on the 22 bus route? Roger French talks of his great bus service for Brighton and Hove, but try living in an outlying area without having to use private transport.
