Three people have been taken to hospital after an accident which saw a road shut for two hours.
The incident involving a van and a private car took place outside The Denbigh pub in Little Common Road (A259), Bexhill, at about 5pm tonight.
It was shut in both ways between Knebworth Road and Cooden Sea Road.
It is the second accident in the town today.
Witnesses reported three ambulances in the area and police cordens at adjoining roads.
It is understood the road was closed while emergency services recover the vehicles.
A police spokesman said at 7pm he was unaware of any incident.
But a spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue confirmed one man had to be cut free of his vehicle.
She added crews from two engines from Bexhill fire station had remained at the scene to help police and ambulance workers.
The spokeswoman said three people had been taken to hospital by air ambulance.
