A couple dressed up in Santa outfits brought Christmas cheer to people taking an afternoon stroll by giving away hundreds of £5 notes.
The pair were spotted cycling around Preston Park, Brighton, at about 2.15pm on Christmas Day handing out the money inside Christmas cards.
The card, signed from Mr and Mrs Claus, not only contained the festive fivers but a Christmas message and an email address, mrclaus@idontbelieveinsanta.com, with an invitation to people to send Christmas messages.
The Argus emailed Mr and Mrs Claus today to try and find out who the mystery pair are but a spokesman for the couple, known only as Bob, Elf-in-charge, who said he lives in the North Pole, said they wished to remain anonymous.
He said: “I shall pass your comments onto Mr. and Mrs Claus who, as you might suspect, are having a little rest after the festivities.
“I am under strict instructions not to discuss the Claus's activities at any time of the year, especially over the Christmas period. I'm sure you'll understand.”
