A mother has defended her right to breastfeed her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
Lucy Bond breastfeeds Sabrina, who will turn four in December, four times a day.
Mrs Bond said the only time she has ever received a funny glance or criticism for breastfeeding was when she fed her three week old baby in a café.
The writer, who lives with husband Adrian and her daughter in South Chailey, near Lewes, insisted people were fine with her continuing to breastfeed.
She said she had never received negative comments, even when Sabrina shouted “boobies” at her in the playground after her first day at nursery.
Mrs Bond said yesterday that it was hard saying no to her daughter, who does not like cow’s milk or dairy products.
She said: “She feeds four times a day and would feed more times if I let her because she is going through a growth spurt.
“Sometimes she just asks and asks and asks."
She said she would probably stop breast feeding when Sabrina was four.
Tell us what you think. Is three-years-old too old for breast feeding?
