A body was airlifted from rocks below Beachy Head yesterday.
Sussex Police were called at about 3.30pm.
The body was recovered by helicopter because the sea was too rough for Eastbourne's Royal National Lifeboat Institution crews to get ashore safely.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and is being investigated by the East Sussex Coroner.
No further details have yet been released.
