Pupils boarded an unusual form of transport and travelled across the South Downs in a fundraising effort.
A sponsored Space Hopper journey from the A27 to the Chattri Memorial was just one way youngsters from Patcham High School in Ladies Mile Road, Brighton, raised more than £1,000 for The Martlets Hospice.
The students in Kipling house learned about the hospice and its work in caring for people with life-limiting illnesses while providing emotional support to relatives.
Other activities include sponsored silences, car washing, babysitting, a football marathon and numerous cake sales.
Some did sponsored cycle rides, walking to the Withdean Stadium, a three-hour non-stop trampoline bounce and running.
Claire Docteur, from the hospice, was on hand to receive the cheque when it was handed over.
