Fancy some time to reflect on yourself, your personality and what has influenced you to be the person that you are today? Then pop down to Project To Be Me outside St Peter’s Church tomorrow (Sunday 8 May) or next weekend (13-15 May).
This intimate art installation, all contained within a tent, is the brainchild of Rebecca Carey, a theatre maker with particular interests in participatory theatre.
Carey said today: “I wanted to explore why it is that we have certain thoughts about certain people based on sex, race, age etc”
“There’s a real mix of responses and emotions… some sad stories, some more jokey. It’s been really surprising and that has been an added bonus that I didn’t anticipate entirely.”
Quotes on psychology, a personality test and anonymous contributions from participants decorate the inside of the tiny yet comforting space, alongside suggestions on how visitors can add to the project themselves.
