A learner driver has suffered the heartache of failing her driving test – for the 25th time.
The woman, who last took her test in Eastbourne in 2009/10, is believed to have failed the most times in Sussex.
The number of failings dwarfs the seven tests it took for Maureen Rees from TV show Driving School, who passed after seven attempts.
But the hapless learner, who has not been named, is not alone as new figures obtained by The Argus reveals.
In total 109 drivers have attempted and failed at least eleven tests each in the last three years at Sussex test centres.
The figures released following a Freedom of Information request to the Driving Standards Agency also show that a woman failed her 22nd test at a Brighton test centre in 2009/10.
Meanwhile a man also failed his 22nd test at the Burgess Hill test centre in the same 12 month period. The highest number of failures recorded in the last 12 months has been a man in Crawley who failed his test for the 19th time.
And it was not just the practical driving tests that wannabe drivers were struggling with.
One man failed his 35th attempt at getting his theory test right at a Brighton test centre while another man failed his 33rd at a Hastings test centre.
