The Brighton Centre is set for a further £1 million revamp.
Tourism bosses have announced the investment to upgrade the conference centre which brings more than £60 million into Brighton and Hove's economy every year.
A planned £400 million redevelopment of the centre is currently on hold.
This has led to Brighton and Hove City Council taking the decision to improve the seafront venue so it does not fall behind rivals such as those in Liverpool and Manchester.
The latest stage includes a significant redevelopment of its main entrance including the exterior space, signage and lighting.
