Update: A young woman suffered smoke inhalation and her home was gutted after a fire was caused by her smoking in bed.
Now firefighters have warned people not to risk their safety and the safety of others by lighting up while under the covers.
The woman, in her 20s, was taken to hospital, after the blaze at about 7am yesterday (Tuesday) morning.
It broke out in the bedroom of her home in Furners Mead, Henfield.
Fire crews from West Sussex left the scene shortly before 9am.
