A Jack Russell is fighting for his life after being attacked by three other dogs.
Meanwhile the animal’s owner suffered a puncture wound to her hand while she attempted to rescue her pet.
The incident took place in Holly Place, Eastbourne, between 9pm and 9.30pm on Friday, as the woman walked her dog on a lead.
The dogs which attacked were described as a Staffordshire terrier type.
Before the attack the victim heard people shouting.
One of the attacking dogs was cream in colour and the two others were brown and white. The owners who were with them are described as two white women and a white man.
One of the women was described as about 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, aged in her early 20s, with short bobbed blonde hair and wearing jeans and a jumper.
The second woman had long dark coloured hair and was also aged in her early 20s.
The man had short dark hair and a slim build.
