There is to be a voluntary spring clean of Blakers Park on March 20 at 2pm.
The park was originally gifted by John George Blake to the people of Brighton in 1893. Since then it has been put to great use by the residents of Fiveways, with a children’s playground, tennis courts and fours acres of green to enjoy.
This year’s spring clean will be the second of its kind, with a successful turn out of more than 100 volunteers last year.
The park is maintained year-round by park ranger Emma Keane with support from volunteers and the Friends of Blaker Park.
The clean up will be two hours long, includes a children’s quiz, with tea and cakes provided.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday, February 16 at the Cleveland Pub for anyone who is interested in supporting the spring clean.
