The man found dead at a Brighton squat has been named.
Craig Martin Palmer, who was homeless, was found on the fourth floor of a house in Russell Square on Saturday.
The 39-year-old's partner, Caroline Bambrick, described him as "a beautiful character who would do anything for anyone".
She said: "Even if he was short of money he would give you money for your bus fare if he could see you needed it.
"He was a caring man who made everyone laugh no matter how bad you felt.
"We were together for nearly nine years and he called me his princess, and that's just how he made me feel. I can't believe he's gone."
Mr Palmer had lived in Brighton for several years, and was originally from the north west of England.
The five men arrested in connection with Mr Palmer's murder remain in custody tonight.
