Double deck cycle racks have been introduced for the first time by a rail operator.
Southern Railway said a further 57 bike parking spaces have been created by the new Two Tier System at Hove railway station.
The rack was funded by Network Rail with Southern and Brighton and Hove City Council working together to install the facility.
Robert Sue, Network Rail’s commercial scheme sponsor, said: “The new bike racks at Hove station are safe, secure and easy to use.”
Southern said it plans to extend the two-tier system to other stations in its network.
The old cycle rack was donated to Brighton YMCA.
