There are certain to be a few hearts skipping a beat once Albion’s new stadium opens.
Fortunately help will be at hand as a medical facility is to be built into the ground.
The club has confirmed that a health and wellbeing centre is to be built in the American Express Community Stadium at Falmer.
A private GP clinic will be located in the East Stand as well as physiotherapy, osteopathy and podiatry facilities.
The centre will also offer life coaching, psychological therapies and sports medicine services.
The club hope to run health initiatives from the centre alongside local charitable organisations and projects such as match-day screenings will also be possible.
The clinic will be run by the Healthy Company Ltd.
The company’s managing director Dr Tim Stevenson has been team doctor at the Albion for the last 15 years.
He said: “Having been involved with the Albion and having seen the plans for the stadium of our dreams come to fruition, this is an absolute honour and privilege to be able to bring The Healthy Company into the Amex.
“By locating this new facility within the stadium we hope to raise the profile of healthy living, providing educational programmes onsite that help people to realise their aim of achieving optimal health and wellbeing.”
Albion chief executive Martin Perry said: “This is another exciting development for the Amex Stadium.”
