I'm 28. Please don't laugh at me but my life is being made miserable by a very itchy bottom. I've tried a couple of creams I got from the chemist but they don't work. I can't go to my GP because he is a friend of my mother's. What really worries me is I had a couple of unwise one-night stands earlier this year. Could my symptom be due to a sexually transmitted disorder (STD)?
An itchy bottom is not a symptom of an STD. owever, it is an extremely common problem particularly in hot weather. Possible causes include thrush, other skin fungi and eczema. Since you feelyou can't go to your own doctor, I suggest you have a brief check-up at your local Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) Clinic. Call 01273 664721.
