This picture shows the Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton about a century ago, looking very different from its appearance today.
The picture is taken from what is now called the aquarium roundabout, one of the busiest stretches of road in Sussex.
Yet there is almost no traffic to be seen here and pedestrians are sauntering across the street.
This hotel, built in the 19th Century, was in the doldrums before being bought by Harry Preston, who transformed it and the neighbouring Royal York into the best in Brighton during Edwardian days.
The gardens which can be seen in the background are those of the Old Steine.
The picture was sent in by reader Terry Sinnott of Brighton.
