This magnificent colonnade was a feature of Brighton town centre for many years and was impressive enough to be put on a postcard.
It was on the corner of North Street and New Road, with pride of place going to the milliner's Homer Herring.
Parts of the colonnade still remain in New Road by the Theatre Royal and there is a pub of that name next to the theatre.
Today, North Street is full of traffic, particularly buses, but when this picture was taken in the Edwardian era, it was almost empty.
