The King's Road paddling pool was a popular feature of Brighton seafront for many years.
This picture, on a postcard dating from 1970, shows it in its prime on a sunny summer's day.
The pool was closed when a new pool and play area was provided about five years ago on the other side of the West Pier.
But the site was retained for a shoreline development which would have been part of the West Pier restoration.
That scheme, by developers St Modwen, has been abandoned and the site's future is uncertain.
But to prevent the pool from being misused or vandalised, Brighton and Hove City Council removed it last month and the site has been levelled.
