Seaford was an exclusive holiday resort during the first half of the last century and had many smart hotels to cater for visitors.
But gradually tourism faded, until it became what is now largely a residential town by the sea.
This undated picture shows the seafront in good condition and possibly dates from Edwardian times.
Today the beach level has been raised to prevent flooding and there has been development on the front, much of it ugly and unsightly.
The promenade has been renovated and there are dozens of benches dedicated to people who loved sitting on the front to enjoy the splendid sea views.
