Brian Stephens emails again in his bid to trace Ray Pavey or his descendants: "I am trying to trace on behalf of overseas relatives, Ray or perhaps Roy Pavey. Herbert may also be his first name before Ray. His legal last name may actually be Cowland since his mother apparently remarried a man of that name.
"He was born in Brighton and was in service in the Second World War. He married Catherine Edwards, a woman from Penarth, Glamorgan, after the war.
"Ray and Cath had two sons, but the marriage broke up before the second was born and he left Penarth, where he was said to have been a taxi driver, and went to Brighton.
"He would be more than 80 years old now but may have married again.
"His two sons and their children would dearly like to have information about him his wife died having told them nothing about him.
"Her sisters say he was a good person and would want to meet the family.
I hope it is not too late and if so, that I may meet his other children if any.
"There was a motorcyclist badge on the sleeve of the (retouched) photograph. It has also been suggested that he was an iceskater and possibly a dancer."
