Heartless burglars stole a lifeline from a disabled child.

The criminals ransacked the home of little Khyal Heading before stealing a £2,000 bubble tube which he uses to overcome his mental and physical disabilities.

His mother, Nikki, said last night: “I don’t know how they can sleep.”

Khyal was born eight years ago with a hole in his heart and despite a host of problems including brain damage and epilepsy has already lived longer than his doctors predicted.

At home, he uses a £2,000 Spacekraft bubble tube, which allows him to develop and learn by using pads to change the colour of the water.

He attends Palatine Primary School in Worthing, and has respite treatment at the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, near Arundel.

He and his mother were living in Dorset Close, where a “sensory room” had been kitted out with therapy equipment, thanks to £16,500 funds raised for Khyal by people in Littlehampton when he was a baby.

Their home was left empty between October 26 and Monday after they moved to a council bungalow in Horsham Road.

When Nikki, 26, returned to fetch the equipment she found the house had been trashed.

She said: “He loved it and it has been taken. Luckily, he doesn’t understand at all.”

A pink Acer laptop and a pickaxe and spade were also taken.
